It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest Guy Butler on April 8th, 2025, peacefully surrounded by family. Ernest will be sadly missed by Claudette his beloved wife of over 64 years, children Joanne (Raymond) and Michael (Elizabeth), grandchildren Alexaré (Reza), Montana (Hunter) and Isla, great grandchildren Maddox and Oxley.
Ernest was born on May 24th, 1937 in New Perlican, Newfoundland. He served in the Air Force for 25 years both on the flightline and as a photographer. After retiring he joined the public service as a director for National Archives.
Ernest was a true family man who would do anything for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He attended every home and away game for all the children, calmed every baby and spent hours helping to build lego, dress dollys or read books.
In keeping with Ernest’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private memorial service will take place later. If so desired, memorial donations to Myeloma Canada (myeloma.ca) would be appreciated by the family.
