It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Jean Mimnagh (Cameron) on July 31, 2024. Predeceased by her loving husband James Gibson Mimnagh (2014). Predeceased by her parents Peter Cameron and Jean Harkness Perratt. Cherished mother to Clive, Glen, Eric, and Marina (Wayne). Remembered by her many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Mom and Dad began their life together when they met at the Glasgow School of Art. When they turned 18 Dad joined the British Navy and Mom joined the Canadian Women’s Army Corps. When the war ended, Mom returned to Montreal. Dad followed and they were married in 1948. They lived on both coasts but settled in Ottawa where Jean worked at Beacon Hill lodge for many years. Mom liked to dance, figure skate, roller skate, and ride her horses. She loved to travel anywhere it was warm.
Jean spent her last 6 months in the wonderful care of the Perley Rideau Veterans Home. She was very happy there and the staff treated her with kindness and compassion. She enjoyed the concerts, bingo, the duck pond, and getting her nails done.
There will be an interment ceremony 3PM Oct 11 2024 at Beechwood Cemetery.
