Desmond Gurnett, June 26, 1926 – August 11, 2024
Desmond Gurnett passed away peacefully at the age of 98. Desmond was born on June 26, 1926, to the late Arthur and Nellie (nee Conroy) Gurnett in Saidpur India. Predeceased by his loving wife Norma (nee Bruce) (2021). Fondly remembered by his children Doug, Brenda and Sandra. Adoring grandfather to Michael and Vanessa. Cherished by his great grandchildren Rowan, Riley and Parker. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Diabetes Canada or The Dementia Society of Ottawa. Family will receive friends and guests at Beechwood Funeral Home Visitation Suites Hall of Collours, 280 Beechwood Ave Ottawa on Tuesday August 20, 2024, at 11:00am -1:00pm. Interment to follow in Beechwood Cemetery.

One of the best parts of my day was walking into the Waterside and being greeted by his smiling face. He gave the best hugs and had the warmest heart. I will miss him terribly and be reminded of his dedication to Norma everytime I walk in to the Waterside.
