My deepest sympathies to Carol Ann, Debbie, Lou, and Mike and their families for the loss of their beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
I remember Bill as a lovely man who usually wore a kind smile and enjoyed a little good natured teasing. May he Rest In Peace.

Bill will be sorely missed. He took me to my first meeting and did the same for a dear friend. He had a way of gently reminding new folks when they were having difficulty with the program - gently, but unmistakably. I know he touched hundreds, if not thousands of us, and cared for and contributed to us unselfishly for most of his life. Bill's creator will know him well, when he gets where he's headed. Godspeed, Sir.

Lou, Debbie, Carol Ann and Michael. Please accept sincere condolences at this very sad time. Like so many others, I meet you Dad and Mom in a church basement. Whenever we shared Bill's stories always led to his family. I will always be so grateful for the love and wisdom he shared. His favorite with me was to pray for those who annoyed us. Being a good sponsor, he rec'd a lot of prayers from me because I didn't always like the advice he suggested.
Going to miss you my friend. God Bless.

Bill cast a long shadow, as my sainted father was wont to say. it meant, simply, that he was a man of considerable influence and well worthy of respect. He was all of that and more. Bill was an exemplar. He showed the way for so many of us by the way he lived each day and the manner in which he imparted quiet - if inconvenient - wisdom to his fellows. He taught me the fundamental importance of gratitude. Bill touched the lives of thousands and his memory will live on in the stories we tell of him as the years unfold.
