Dear Nancy, Tom, Mary Pat and Rosemarie,
Thinking of you all today as I read the news of your Mom’s passing, and remembering many great times as a youngster with you Nancy at your home on Hemlock. Your Mom, like most, was the central hub of your family, dedicated, dependable, sociable and welcoming (but also occasionally admonishing when we were too lively during the wee hours of our sleepovers!…). I clearly recall though how your Mom was always engaged, asking after my large family, etc., perhaps as our parents were of the same era. Decades later I ran across your Mom, surprisingly, at my hairdresser’s home salon, where we’d both gone for many years! Marguerite had become a vibrant older lady of that elegant generation, happy to update me on each of your lives.
Losing a mother is a bit surreal, they are so much a part of us, but it’s lovely to read of your Mom’s longevity and see that hers was a full and no doubt contented life.
I’m sorry to miss the funeral Nancy, but send my sincere sympathies to you all.
