Carole Anne Mierins

Passed away with family by her side on 2 June. Carole Mierins, in her 75^th year, loving mother of Krystina (Joseph) and step-mother of Jamey (Tonya) and Katie. Wonderful Grandma to Fiametta. Dear daughter of Harriet Lanctôt and the late Paul Lanctôt, Sr. Dear sister of Michael and the late Marie and Paul (Saranne). Also survived by nephews Gregory and Christopher and niece Cindy. Carole grew up in Niagara Falls before pursuing an undergraduate and Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Toronto. After moving to Ottawa in the early 1970s, she began a more than forty-year career at the Ottawa General Hospital. Carole also enjoyed a love of nature in Canada, particularly the untamed landscapes of Newfoundland, and abroad and explored this passion in her artistic practice. A special thanks to the caring staff at Forest Hill and Ramatu Yahya of Choice Homecare. A private interment will take place at Beechwood Cemetery (280 Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa, ON).
