Passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Alice Abourizk (née Howayek). Dear son of the late Youssef and Lucia Abourizk of Lebanon. Loving father of Nemer (Irene), Claudia (Souhail Sadaka), Katia (Elias Barakat) and Elias (Cathy). Cherished Jedo of Béatrice and Juliana Abourizk; Alice Sadaka; Moufid and Noor Barakat. Very dear brother of the late Georges Abourizk (late Nohad) and Najat (Ibrahim Saikaley) of Ottawa; Maroun Abourizk (late Rose), Georgette (late Khalil Smiley), Elias Abourizk (Nathalie), Michel Abourizk (late Zalfa) and Sleiman Abourizk (Claude) all of Lebanon. Dear brother-in-law of Elie Howayek (Jeannette) and Rafic Howayek (Chimene) of Ottawa. Abou-Nemer and his infectious smile, laughter and love of life and human connection will be dearly missed by all of us including his nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, family and extended social circle in Canada, Lebanon and many parts of the world. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Beechwood Funeral Home, 280 Beechwood Ave. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 2975 Riverside Dr. followed by interment at Beechwood Cemetery. For those wishing, in memoriam donations to St. Elias Cathedral would be appreciated.
