Veronica was a wonderful and welcoming neighbour to me for our shared years on the 16th floor at the Watergate apartments. My condolences to her family, who she was so proud of.

Dear Susie, my deepest condolences to you and your family. Veronica was a very special person who loved to visit close neighbours, talk about family. She also liked to reminisce about life in Hungary, Vancouver and other places of travel. Susie you were a wonderful support for your mother especially in these challenging last few years. Vera and I were best friends from the first day we met until the last telephone calls, when we just started chatting as if we would still be neighbors in student housing. Au revoir my friend! Rest in peace. I love you.

Vera was a close friend to my late Mom, Mae in Vancouver. She soon became part of our extended family and I will always be grateful for that. She was generous, kind and compassionate. The consummate host, a fabulous cook who respected her Hungarian heritage when she effortlessly prepared delicious meals for others. She had such a fun sense of humour and famously didn’t realize how funny she really was. We often spoke about how a laugh was always guaranteed when engaging with Vera.
I personally learned a lot from this remarkable soul, we all did. She became the personal driver for others in need and was always thinking about how she could help someone out with a delivered meal or a thoughtful conversation. I believe people who have suffered great loss themselves are best equipped to unconditionally support others and that she certainly did.
I am a better person for knowing her and I will cherish family memories with Vera. I will also continue to learn from her. Prayers and condolences to Susie, Sarah and her great-grandchildren Sam, Norah and Holly. A love like Vera had for her family simply put, never ends. This I know for certain. It was an absolute honour to know her and I will cherish all she taught me and the support and friendship Vera gave my family. A beautiful spirit who will not be forgotten

Veronica was my BIG sister ,who I never had, she helped me through some rough waters
with her wise comments and reassuring advice ! I could tell her anything she never had a negative comment only encouraging words.

I will always remember her courage and stoic acceptance of your sisters health ,it was amazing how she got through so many health problems with your siblings ,not to forget your Dad ! And the love she had for her only granddaughter, Sarah! Yes, she had an inner strength and I know you will miss her terribly .

May She rest in Peace in Jesus arms ,

Dear Sue and Sarah, so sorry for your loss.
Vera was better known as mom to me, she was my second mom, as I spent so much time in high school at the family home visiting Judy - Sarah's mom.
The whole family had a great sense of humour.
For awhile I lost touch with Vera as I moved out of the country. But on returning kept up contact with Vera. Visiting with her made me feel like I had come home, she was so kind and friendly as every one has said. I felt so fortunate to know her.
I know she loved her family very much.
Hopefully warm memories of her will live on in your heart and comfort you.

Although we never knew Mrs. Kollar, we know her through the stories that Sue tells us. She will be greatly missed by all. We wish to extend our deepest sympathies to the family.
