Afif Raphael Hoyek passed away in Ottawa, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Loving father of Dunia and Nader. Dear brother of Raif, Jean (Adma), Louis, Soeur Francine and Denise; predeceased by Sami, Nadim and Soeur Marguerite. Cherished uncle of Charbel and Elie.
Trained in Lebanon as a mechanic, he came alone to Canada in 1974 and worked for Hydro Quebec. Once settled, he started a family and brought his siblings over from Lebanon. A lover of business, technology, and politics. He was tremendously generous and gave much more than he was asked.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, May 6, 2024 between 5:00 and 9:00 pm at Beechwood National Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Ave.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 11:00 am at Saint Charbel Parish Maronite Catholic Church, 245 Donald St., Ottawa.
Interment to follow at Beechwood National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Charbel Church would be appreciated.
