It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Beverley Milton on March 22nd, 2024, at the age of 93 at Stillwater Creek Retirement Residence in Ottawa.
Beverley was born July 1, 1930, in Ottawa to Emma Louise (nee Goglin) and Albert Frederick Beohmer. She is survived by her loving son Scott and Daughter-in-Law Marilyn, her loving brother Don and Sister-in-Law Mabel Boehmer, and many nieces and nephews, her grand-children Amy Dolan (Ryan Racine), Lucas Dolan (Erika Lyall) and Wren Alexander and great grand-children Liam, Cohen and Leo.
She was raised with 1 sister Dorothy and 3 brothers Gordon, Melville, and Donald. She graduated from the High School of Commerce in Ottawa in 1947 before becoming the private secretary for the City of Ottawa’s Fire Chief Gray Burnett.
She met the love of her life in Douglas Roderick Milton, and they married in Ottawa on October 6, 1956. Their children Leslie and Scott arrived in 1962 and 1965 respectively. They were married for 30 years as Douglas passed away in 1986. They were part of the founding members of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church and attended for life.
She lovingly helped raise Leslie and Scott until she returned to work for Transport Canada in October 1978 and retired in 1990. During her retirement she travelled extensively and enjoyed playing bridge and as a result she made many lifelong friends.
The visitation will be held at Beechwood Cemetery and Funeral Home (280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa, ON) on Saturday June 15, 2024, from 9-10am, followed by a celebration of life. Refreshments will be served shortly thereafter.
A private inurnment of ashes will occur sometime in late summer 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada, Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, or Faith Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
