Anne Hing Yung Szeto passed away peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital into her Lord's arms on April 18, 2024 at the age of 85. She was the adored wife of the late Siu Cheung, loving mother to her daughter Janice (late Derek), and late son Jimmy, and cherished grandmother to grandsons Tim (Gloria) and Chris. She is also lovingly remembered by her family in Hong Kong: brothers late Chor Hin (late Bo Kuen), late Sai Ha, late Chor Ming (Yuk Ling), Chor Yiu (Wai Fun), late Chor Kwai (Yuk Ping), late Chor Fai; and sisters late Hing Siu (late Fung Ki), Hing Choi (Kan Kai Hung), Hing Wong (Yui Ming).
Mom had a special heart for Christian missions gospel work. In her golden years, she traveled to the East Coast of Canada, Peru, Paris, Amsterdam, Windsor and Toronto to spread the gospel through testimony and song. Many treasured friendships were formed with communities across Ottawa as she served to share the good news of Christ. Mom will always be remembered as the flourishing social butterfly through her gentle spirit, loving smile, and caring heart.
Special heartfelt thanks to Mary, Cammie, Florence, Tina, Irene, Anita, Jane, Eliza and May who partook in caring for mom over meal times during her hospital stays at both Montfort and Queensway Carleton hospitals. She always looked forward to her time with her lunch buddies. And an extended thanks to everyone who had visited mom during the family's challenging times to share in time of fellowship, song, and prayer.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 5:30-8pm at Beechwood Cemetery (280 Beechwood Ave.). The funeral will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 10am at the Ottawa Chinese Alliance Church (22 Eccles St., Ottawa, ON.), followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.
The Interment Service will follow the reception at 2:30pm at Beechwood Cemetery (280 Beechwood Ave.). Maps to be provided at Ottawa Chinese Alliance Church. Or meet at Beechwood main building at 2:15pm to follow the procession.
