We were privileged to be among Janis' very many friends around the world, having first met her in Cyprus some 20 years ago. Stories abound of the effect she & Leo had on people they encountered, we even met a Jewish couple on a train in India who knew them well... We've seen a lot of her on Zoom since the Pandemic and looked forward to seeing and hearing her, always so loving and concerned, sharing uplifting news and prayers, telling us about her international family and the Gatineau community. We will miss her smiling face and laughter which still rings in our ears... Leo's was the first video-linked funeral we attended, way before Covid made this the norm. We look forward to joining their loved ones tomorrow and send warm condolences to her family and community.

My very special friend since 1956 when we shared a room at OLC boarding school. A leader by example with so much love, caring and kindness; she left this world in a better place to be. So glad we had our trip to Norway together. Shewill always be in my heart.
This is very sad news. I enjoyed knowing Janis so much and will miss her sweetness, her kindness, and her lovely presence in Gatineau.
