It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Grace Ha. She went peacefully on December 18th, 2023 surrounded by her closest loved ones, at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Grace recently celebrated her 67th birthday.
She was born to Kenneth Hum and the late Betty Hum, November 30th, 1956, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Grace would eventually move with her family to Toronto and then Ottawa, where she would meet her lifelong soulmate, Stephen Ha. They enjoyed their 40 year marriage anniversary just this past August.
A loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend – Grace had a beautiful and fulfilling life.
She is survived by her loving husband Stephen; three sons: Christopher, Simon, Patrick; father Kenneth; siblings Rose and Kenneth Jr.; Brother-in-law Kelvin; Daughter-in-laws Alyssa and Caroline; Grand-dogs Remix, Mochi and Chip; and countless friends and family members she has touched over the years.
Many know Grace as a kind, generous and completely selfless person. She lived to give to others and unconditionally loved her friends and family – even while her health declined. She would never forget a birthday, anniversary, or celebration. You were also lucky if you had a chance to enjoy her spotless house and perfect Christmas Tree.
The family would like to personally thank Dr. Lisa Mielniczuk and the caring staff at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, who tirelessly gave their effort to improve Grace’s health and quality of living over the past 12 years.
We will forever love you, Mom, and do our best to continue to make you proud. Thank you for everything you gave and taught us.

Our deepest condolences to Stephen, Christopher, Simon and Patrick, Uncle Ken and Family.
Grace was a gentle soul. I remember the few short years when our families lived together and even though I was quite a few years older, Grace and I would often hang out. She will be greatly missed. You may be gone but will forever be in our heart. Rest in peace, dear cousin.
