It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, dad, and dziadzia Tomasz Kozielec on Sunday, December 3, 2023, in Ottawa ON, at the age of 84, with his loving wife by his side. He leaves behind his wife of 56 years Rita, his children Loretta (Erick), Yolanta (deceased March 2023), Mark, and his 3 most cherished grandchildren, Rebeka, Samantha and Stephanie, as well as many other relatives in Canada and Poland.
Our beloved dziadzia was known to be the life of every party. Every room he would walk into would immediately be filled with joy and laughter, either by showing his great dancing skills, whether it be the polka or traditional polish dances, or his jokes and humour that would liven any conversation. In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors: gardening, biking, nature walks, cross-country skiing, and carrying on his cultural traditions, after his immigration to Canada, by making polish sausages (Kielbasa) or his famous Santa Fe dish! His presence will be greatly missed by all but kept in countless shared memories of his 84 years.
We would like to extend our gratitude to our many friends, family, and colleagues who reached out during dad’s illness to offer their support and to the staff at Peter D Clark Long Term Care Centre, Willow wing, for their compassionate care, help, guidance, patience, and the kindness they extended to dad while he was entrusted briefly to their care.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Most Holy Trinity Parish in Montreal, 1660 Centre St. The family will receive condolences as of 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Reception to follow.
A private interment of ashes ceremony will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or to a charity of your choice.
We love you DAD! We love you DZIADZIA!
Kochamy cię bardzo. I na zawsze pozostaniesz w naszych sercach!

We were so sad to hear the passing of your father. Tomek always had a smile and a friendly hello for everyone. Tomek always had a helping hand for everyone who asked. He would often ask me to dance and always said we were family.
May you have no more sorrow.
