It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our dear Uncle Billy. He always made us laugh and even more importantly, he made us think. He was an avid reader and a very intelligent man. He helped me with 4 years of French in my teen years and I could listen to him speak it all day. His devotion to my dear Aunty Barbara was touching and sweet. "Make us a cuppa, Bill. Go on." always sent him running to put the kettle on with a tongue-in-cheek "yes, my pet" or "of course, my darling." Some of my favorite memories were at the dining room table at Christmas and opening our Crackers. Uncle Billy invariably put his paper crown on upside down and that was not enough, he often turned his glasses upside down too. He was a gentleman and a gentle man. Andy and I loved him so very much. No doubt he is making tea and reading books in Heaven with Aunty at his side. That visual makes me smile through my tears.
