“There’s a hole in the world tonight.”

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear husband and father on November 17th, 2021.  Chris was predeceased by daughter, Valérie Goneau.  He leaves behind his beloved wife, Jacqueline and son Eric (Camille).  He will be dearly missed by his parents, Jean-Jacques and Joan Goneau as well as by his sisters, Joanne (George Menexis) and Jennifer Moore (Bob).  Fondly remembered by his in-laws Louis-Philippe and Pauline Coulombe as well as many nieces and nephews.

Chris was a force of nature that could not be stopped.  The impact that he had on everyone he met is truly indescribable.  He taught us all how to be resilient, how to chase our dreams and goals, and what it means to be a loving father, brother, husband, son and friend.  The things he had accomplished while overcoming life’s biggest challenges were so inspiring. Chris even recently wrote a book called “I’m Still Standing”, while going through cancer treatments. He lived his life with purpose and that will stay with all of us, forever.

We know that he and Valérie will be playing some great music up there on the piano and smiling down on us, until we all meet again.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa, ON) on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2021 from 11am to 1pm, followed by the memorial service.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Valérie’s Flutter Foundation. https://www.valeriesflutter.com/

How wonderful life was while you were in the world.  We love you forever.

Chris was indeed the most resilient person I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I am honored to have known him.
