[Bob/Robert] Wallace, born 15 December 1935 in Saint John, New Brunswick, passed away on January 26th, 2026, after a long life devoted to service, family, and community. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, he is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marie‑Thérèse (née Grandjean), whom he met while stationed in France; his sons, Jean‑Louis (Brenda) and Frédérick (Maria); and his grandchildren, Delphine, Amélie, and Sophia.
A veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force, he served from 1953 to 1964, including postings in France and Ottawa. He later worked with the National Research Council before dedicating two decades to the Public Service Alliance of Canada as a union representative and Executive Secretary Treasurer. His career was marked by a deep commitment to fairness and supporting workers through personal and professional challenges.
Known for his unfailing smile and willingness to help, he never thought twice about stepping in to assist. Throughout his life, he volunteered extensively, contributing 30 years to amateur swimming in Ontario and Quebec, working with Community Policy Services to support homeowners with security issues, and serving as a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 58 in Pointe-Gatineau borough since 1962, including as President in 1978.
He will be missed by many, and those he touched will remember him for his integrity, compassion, and guiding belief: "To thine own self be true."
The entire family wishes to thank the many friends and acquaintances who supported us, and particularly the medical and support professionals at Montfort Hospital for their care and attention in these past few weeks.
No visitation is planned. In keeping with his wishes, he was cremated. Interment will take place on 29 May at 13h00, followed by a Celebration of Life at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services at 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the Robert Wallace scholarship at the Telfer School of Management in Ottawa.

My deepest condolences to Marie-Terese and all of Bob's family. I have many fond memories of Bob and I treasured his vast union knowledge and sage advice during my tenure with Local 013 of UTE in Toronto. His generous assistance during the '80's has always been remembered. May you rest in peace, good and faithful servant!
My heart felt condolences on your loss.
