It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Frances Outerbridge, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, great grandmother and beloved friend.  Surrounded at home by her loving family, she drew her last breath as the light of the afternoon sun set upon her face.  Her life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family.

Fran was the heart and soul of her family, whose love shaped the lives of her four children, Margo (Norman), Ross (Carole), Howie (Jennifer), and Geoff with boundless patience, wisdom, and compassion.  ‘Granny’ was cherished by her nine grandchildren, Joshua (Andrea), Isaac (Caitlyn), Noah (Lauren), Moira, Kieran, Addysen, Owen, Liam and Amelia and her three delightful great grandsons, Ezra, Benjamin and Hutchinson. Fran leaves behind many nieces and nephews from across Canada, Australia and France and is predeceased by her parents and sister Audrey and her loving husband, Bill.

Fran is well remembered for the years she spent inspiring young minds in the magic of mathematics at Elmwood School.  She cultivated many dear friendships over the years, organized epic cycling trips with her girlfriends and reveled in the boundless energy of the family dogs.  She was an accomplished seamstress, a voracious reader and a fierce family Euchre tournament competitor.  Together with Bill, she was a curious and adventuresome world traveler, a consummate hostess of creative dinner parties and Christmas Eve celebrations. Her happiest moments were spent together with family and friends in the solace and comfort of Norcliffe, their cottage on Lake Muskoka.

As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate a life beautifully lived, a mother deeply loved, and a legacy that will endure in the hearts of her children, grandchildren and all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Our heartfelt gratitude is shared with Mum’s devoted caregivers, Bette, Leila, Joy, Skip, Sandra and Bonnie, Bytown Palliative Care Team and the dedicated staff at Chartwell New Edinburgh Square.
