It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Ken after a courageous battle with illness. As he passed in hospice, Ken was completely surrounded by the love and support of friends and family.
He is survived by his partner Filomena, father Allen, sisters Barbara and Alanna (Ryan and Dustin), and brother/sister-in-law Richard & Christina (Brynn, Adelaide and Brooke). He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy (2017). Ken’s personality, kindness and sense of humour will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Ken on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa, ON. The Celebration will begin with a visitation from 12 p.m., a service for friends and family to share memories at 2 p.m., followed by a reception from 3 to 5 p.m.
The Burchill family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses that gave such dedicated care to Ken at the Ottawa Hospital, Bytown Palliative Medicine, and the Hospice Care Ottawa.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Care Ottawa – May Court Hospice, would be appreciated.

Ken and I went to school together and later worked together. We would also cross paths biking along the Ottawa river when we would have a chance to catch up. Ken was a lovely, kind person and will be missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Ken on several contracts over the years. Ken was always helpful with both colleagues and the client. Ken was always the go to guy and never let anyone down. Ken will surely be missed by everyone that knew him. Sincere condolences to Ken’s family and friends. RIP Ken!
