It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Ken after a courageous battle with illness. As he passed in hospice, Ken was completely surrounded by the love and support of friends and family.
He is survived by his partner Filomena, father Allen, sisters Barbara and Alanna (Ryan and Dustin), and brother/sister-in-law Richard & Christina (Brynn, Adelaide and Brooke). He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy (2017). Ken’s personality, kindness and sense of humour will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Ken on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa, ON. The Celebration will begin with a visitation from 12 p.m., a service for friends and family to share memories at 2 p.m., followed by a reception from 3 to 5 p.m.
The Burchill family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses that gave such dedicated care to Ken at the Ottawa Hospital, Bytown Palliative Medicine, and the Hospice Care Ottawa.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Care Ottawa – May Court Hospice, would be appreciated.

My sincerest condolences. Ken was such a sweet man with a wonderful “joie de vivre”. We worked together at Montage for several years.

Oh my goodness, what sad news. Our condolences to you, Al, and the entire family. Ken certainly had that wonderful dry humour and we know he will be dearly missed! I wish we were closer, we would have loved to come to the service.
