Beechwood has a long history of superior service to the Lebanese community of Ottawa. This tradition of excellence has led the community churches to enter into agreements with Beechwood to set aside sections specifically designed to meet their internment needs.
In the centre on the Lebanese section (Section 100) stands a statue of Saint Charbel Makhlouf. He was a Maronite monk and priest from Lebanon. During his life, he obtained a wide reputation for holiness and he has been canonized by the Catholic Church. Many Maronite Christians have prayer cloths blessed and then place them on the sick, praying to God through the intercession of Saint Charbel, for healing.
