It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Rachel Patricia Huneault (née Groulx) our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who passed away at the age of 83 on March 9, 2026.
Though her passing was sudden, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain with her family forever.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Louis Huneault, her children, Alain Huneault and Sylvie Skyba and their spouses Julie and Terry, her grandchildren Eric, Michael, Alexandre, Toby and Sophie as well as her loving extended family, and many dear friends.
A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate her life in the Sacred Space at Beechwood's National Memorial Centre on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 1 pm, followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Civic Hospital of Ottawa in honor of the ICU team who cared for her and her family in her final hours.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Like a second mother to me when I was young, tolerating all the mischief Sylvie and I got into, and always welcoming me into her home with open arms. She will forever hold a very special place in my heart.

Please accept our most sincere condolences at this time. Forgive us, there aren't any magic words that can ease your sudden and unexpected pain. We wish there were. All we can say for sure is that we'll always be here for you, whatever you need. Bansky says that we all pass twice; the first time is physical and the second time when our name is used for the last time. Please use Rachel’s name over and over again and be sure to tell her story. Perhaps when the time is right, you may be able to share some laughter through tears.
May God bless you all.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of Rachel. She was a delightful lady.
I enjoyed golfing and playing bridge with her. Her great smile will not be forgotten.
Take care.
Aunt Rachel was so kind and thoughtful. My heart goes out to the entire family.
