It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Rachel Patricia Huneault (née Groulx) our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who passed away at the age of 83 on March 9, 2026.

Though her passing was sudden, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain with her family forever.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Louis Huneault, her children, Alain Huneault and Sylvie Skyba and their spouses Julie and Terry, her grandchildren Eric, Michael, Alexandre, Toby and Sophie as well as her loving extended family, and many dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate her life in the Sacred Space at Beechwood's National Memorial Centre on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 1 pm, followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Civic Hospital of Ottawa in honor of the ICU team who cared for her and her family in her final hours.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Louis and family
We are sending our deepest sympathies for the loss of Rache
We loved the the winters we spent with her and Louis in Florida golfing dinners and many laughs
Rachel was one of a kind who enjoyed every moment even winning Super Bowl pools
We will always cherish our time with the Huneault family

Dear Louis, I was shocked to learn of Rachel's death. I met her years ago, when I paid my respects to your sister at the convent. Rachel was so poised, elegant and kind. I am so sorry for your loss, sincere condolences to the family. Nancy
