It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sergeant (retired) Patrick H. Arseneau, who lost his battle with cancer on Monday, April 7, 2025, at the age of 77. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.
Pat was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, dedicating over 30 years to public service. He began his career with humble determination as a patrol officer and, through dedication and integrity, rose through the ranks to serve in major crimes, eventually concluding his distinguished career at RCMP National Headquarters.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Pat was known for his quiet strength, sharp wit, and warm heart. He was an avid golfer, always happy to spend time on the green, and had an unabashed love for sweet treats - especially chocolate. His calm and steady presence brought comfort to all who knew him.
Pat is survived by his wife Joan; his sons, JP and Rob; and extended family Jocelyn and Michael as well as many friends, and former colleagues who held him in the highest regard. His legacy of service, humility, and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
A private ceremony will be held to honor Pat's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Pat was my RCMP troop mate. In a 32 man dorm, in alphabetical order, he was never far away. He was valedictorian at graduation. We kept in touch over the years. A fine gentleman who will be missed. Rest in peace my friend. Condolences to the family. I’m sorry for your loss.

Pat and I go back a long way. We took a flight to Regina along with Rocco, Dunn, Legault and Hardy. Then we all slept at medical building at Depot. At the end of training Pat was our valedictorian and of course delivered a great speech. He will be missed. Sorry he is gone. May he rest in peace.

Pat was a troopmate in 9 Troop 71/72. He was the quiet leader of the group with a great sense of humour. So well respected by all of us. He gave a very strong and moving valedictorian speech at our graduation.
It was such a pleasure to see him and Joan at our reunions.
He will be forever in our hearts. Our prayers are with you Joan.
Pat has been my best friend since the 70's. We were each other's life support through each other's illnesses and life's let downs. He helped me through my grievance period, when my wife passed away and was my moral support during my illness in 2024.
I will miss him.
