It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sergeant (retired) Patrick H. Arseneau, who lost his battle with cancer on Monday, April 7, 2025, at the age of 77. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.

Pat was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, dedicating over 30 years to public service. He began his career with humble determination as a patrol officer and, through dedication and integrity, rose through the ranks to serve in major crimes, eventually concluding his distinguished career at RCMP National Headquarters.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Pat was known for his quiet strength, sharp wit, and warm heart. He was an avid golfer, always happy to spend time on the green, and had an unabashed love for sweet treats - especially chocolate. His calm and steady presence brought comfort to all who knew him.

Pat is survived by his wife Joan; his sons, JP and Rob; and extended family Jocelyn and Michael as well as many friends, and former colleagues who held him in the highest regard. His legacy of service, humility, and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.

A private ceremony will be held to honor Pat's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

We were sad to hear that Pat had passed away and our condolences go out to the family. My wife Marlene and I knew Pat while serving in "A" Division and socialized with him occasionally. Always a gentleman and a trusted friend.

Pat I will always remember you as a true friend. We had fun times at work, you could always be counted on for your common sense approach to work and life.

We will surely miss him. His upbeat personality and friendliness is something I enjoyed! I recall a wonderful visit to his house with a number of fellow RCMP Veterans. May he rest in peace—my condolences to Marelene and his family.

Pat was the best step-brother ever! I am so lucky to have “inherited” him when my Mom married his Dad. He was a fine gentleman - just like his Dad. I will miss him endlessly! Rest in Peace, Pat!

I'm so sorry for your loss Joan. I dearly remember working with Pat in Commercial Crime at A Division. Such a dear sweet man. I didn't realize he was fighting cancer. He and Jerry are having a wee dram together in heaven!
