Parviz was born in Tehran, Iran to Hormoz and Behjat and had a fun childhood with his younger brother Kamyar. Early on he developed a love for the outdoors and astronomy in the mountains of Savadkouh. His studies and career in the Navy fit his adventurous nature as he voyaged to places that few people have, from Scandinavian countries to remote islands in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
He spent the second half of his life proudly in Canada where he was devoted to his family and continued to pursue his passions both individually and with his beloved partner in crime of 41 years, Henga Nayeri. He traveled to many more places, both in person and through his favourite stories like Star Wars & Lord of the Rings. Though an Engineer, he was always an artist at heart. From a toy-maker, to painter, to sculptor and creative art of all sorts, his creations were often a topic of conversation. His green thumb kept the neighborhood squirrels well-fed.
His life was based on the Zoroastrian saying “Pendare Nik, Goftare Nik, Kerdare Nik – Good Thoughts, Good Words, & Good Deeds.” His life motto was “It’s beautiful” which was his best attempt at expressing his love and gratitude for everyone and everything. His witty and impromptu remarks never failed to entertain and his endless imagination found an answer to any situation or question. One of his other favourite sayings was “I’m from the planet earth, where are YOU from?”.
His kindness and imagination had a lasting impact on all those who crossed his path and are reflected in his daughters, Kiana, Leila and his son-in-law, Joel Ciravolo. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, Theodore and Olivia, who always thought Glampa could fix anything. Believe us, Home Depot & Canadian Tire stock price will drop. His brother, Kamyar; sisters in law, Parnaz and Gita; brothers in law, Reza Matine and Benoit Lebeau; nephews, Shahin and Jonathan; and many cherished friends will also continue his vision of life. Without his physical presence on this planet, there is going to be a void in many hearts. No doubt, he is making our loved ones on the other side laugh.
We are grateful to the Ottawa General Hospital and, Lorry Greenberg Cancer Centre for their compassionate and professional care during the last 17 months of his life. In his generous nature, he donated his corneas, the priceless gift of sight, perhaps others can continue to see through his beautiful outlook. As his Oncologist, Dr. S. Brule summed it up, “He was a gem of a man”.
May the force be with you. Always.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 5th, 2023, at the Nepean Sailing Club (3259 Carling Avenue, Nepean, ON), from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30pm, followed by a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ottawa Food Bank.

I met Parviz in Montreal Canada in the early years that they moved there , and anytime we could spent time together in Montreal in those days we got some beer and food and a lot of fun.Parviz has a big heart that could hold the whole world in it.
His smile and making fun of every situation no matter how hard it might have been was his great strength in his life. His richness in his life was family snd friends that he would love to cherish . He was a great person and had a lot of strength in his life to overcome the hard situations. He and Hengameh had worked hard to get to where they are now they were two good friends that you could love to have in your life. I loved him a lot and i am sure that after this hard struggle with this cancer he is resting in peace now and looking at us now from where his soul is smiling at us with his love and compassion for us, I am sure wants us to remember him who he sincerely was a great person, great heart , full of compassion and joy.
I personally miss you Parviz joon rest in peace you are always in my heart.Love you with all my heart, I am very sad that you are now with us and also happy knowing that you are now resting in peace.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. My memories from Parviz is that he was full of life and always happy. Whenever I called and he answered the phone, he always told me jokes and made me laugh. He was just a good person and I wish we had more people like him. Parviz will be missed so much. I am thinking of you all. May he rest in peace, till we meet again.

Parviz was one of the kindest, most generous, coolest , funniest and most considerate person I know. He was amazing humane being , his positive world views and his attitude toward life and people always inspired me and others around him . Although very humble and selfless , one could not avoid noticing his qualities and positive impacts on others .
Like his families and his friends I will miss him a lot and will remember all the great memories.
