Sharon passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at her home in Ottawa at the age of 64, on Monday, August 7, 2023. Beloved wife of Umberto Veraldi and cherished mother of Francesco Veraldi (Debra) and Michele Veraldi (Julianne). Sharon will also be sadly missed by her siblings (Michael, Theresa, Gail, and Catherine). Predeceased by her parents, David and Mary Haché.
Sharon was happiest when spending time with her family and friends or supporting her boys. Her unrelenting perseverance and larger-than-life personality brought strength to those around her and afforded her the unique ability to focus on the light and the journey during difficult times. Sharon will be remembered for her love, laughter and for being unapologetically herself at all times, never hesitating to provide motherly advice and support or speak her mind to those around her.
A special thanks to those who went above and beyond to support Sharon’s wishes to be at home; to the oncology and support teams at The Ottawa Hospital; and to all those who supported Sharon through her journey.
Visitation will take place at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa) on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 6pm to 8pm. As per Sharon’s wishes, no additional services will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

My deepest condolences to Sharon's Family.
I met Sharon on my first day with CSLP. She organized bi-weekly trips to the "Bank" What is so great about going to the Bank I asked myself. She and her gang went to the Bank Hotel on pay weeks for lunch/Beers........ahhhh Now I get it. She was fun and full of life, I will remember her that way. May she rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of working several years with Sharon and over the years, enjoyed our many chats.
After her surprise retirement party, she sent a thank you e-mail which ended with: “So again, mille grazie and here are some parting words: Stay humble, stay strong and most of all, stay true to yourself. Live life to the fullest and take every day in stride.”
In her own words, this perfectly sums up Sharon and how she lived her life,,, she was a bright light in a sky full of stars.
Wishing you comfort and remembering the kind soul that was your wife/mom.

Ode to Mama Sharon
Sharon is gone, it feels so wrong
When she retired, I sang her a song
We had lots of laughs and so much fun
Now she has departed, like the setting sun
Sharon was so full of life
Her infectious laugh
Her warm embrace
Always there if you needed a hand
Helping people, she was in demand
Sharon was the office mom
Giving love to everyone
When you were down, she’d give you a hug
Or make you a coffee in your favourite mug
At coffee time we’d have a chat
A touch of cinnamon and maybe a treat
A beautiful soul, I was lucky to meet
For my cherished friend, life has come to an end
I wish I could see her once again
To have a laugh or even cry
Maybe have a piece of pie
Please don’t take her, I want to shout
She is at peace, I have no doubt
I’m sending out a loving hug
Drinking coffee, from my favourite mug
Sharon we must say adieu
You live in our hearts, and we love you.

I feel very blessed to have had the pleasure to know Sharon. What I will remember most is her wonderful laugh. When I attended her virtual retirement party I was so touched by the wonderful stories her colleagues at CSLP/CSFA shared, there was so much love.
My heartfelt condolences to her family.

I worked with Sharon over many years through my job at OSAP. Although l never had the pleasure of meeting her in person, l always considered her as a good friend. She was always so helpful, thorough and professional with any problem l would bring to her, and often shared a funny story or adventure that would make me smile. I always looked forward to our chats. Over the years, l also came to know how dearly she loved her family and friends, and the time she spent with them. I extend my sincere condolences to you all during this very difficult time of loss.
