Charles Mwewa, 49, a beloved husband, father, brother, and son, sadly passed away on May 6, 2025, to be with the Lord, after a life richly lived with love, kindness, compassion, and boldness. Charles was married to Clarice for 22 years and leaves behind three daughters, Emmerance, Tashany, and Cutera. Charles was known for tirelessly and confidently representing his clients in law. He was never at a loss for words and, as a result, wrote more than 150 books. He was adventurous and daring, always seeking unique activities during vacation. He was a very proud father, Christian, intercessor, poet, novelist, and practitioner of the Law. He loved God unconditionally, but also loved his wife and children, and took pride in that. Through his ample knowledge and wisdom, he touched and changed the lives of many locally and internationally by mentoring and educating people in Law, Christianity, prayer, and every genre of life. He was a rare kind and will forever be missed! But we rejoice knowing that heaven has truly gained !

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario. A Funeral Service will follow Friday, May 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m., followed by the burial and reception, also at Beechwood.

Pastor Charles, Professor Charles...An extraordinary man. God visits us many times and sometimes through men...you were one of those God used to visit some of us severally especially in our early years in the Lord. Your love for God, heart for people and dedication to whatever you did always made you stand out. You were an inspiration in countless ways. A man if I could describe in a few words I would say prayer, influence, excellence, statesman, teacher, author and preacher. You had a unique ability of managing both greatness and humility at the same time. You made people feel great in your presence and you did it so well. What an amazing life you lived sir. You have run your race and fought a good fight of faith. Rest in peace and power sir. Farewell Prof Charles

Glory be to the Lord Almighty who decided to take you back home. He alone the author and finisher of our faith knows best. Thank you for your contribution to the Body of Christ, and like we say to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord.

As hard as it feels to hear you have transitioned, we also remain hopeful because we know you are in the presence of Christ Jesus. I will NEVER forget you, because you were the FIRST person who had ever told me that I was wise. In this cruel world of uncertainty and despair,😔 words of affirmation recorded in our hearts and souls are sometimes all that one needs to keep the fight and faith in Christ Jesus. Thank you for saying those unforgettable words to me. They always reassure me when life gets tough. I’m praying for your beautiful wife and children for peace and comfort during this difficult time. Rest in Heavenly Peace, until we meet again. Much love 🤍🌹🕊️

Pastor Charles, hearing about your death came as a shock to me and is something that's been devastating to understand. You were a great man of honour who loved and diligently served God.
Just like Christ loves the Church, you loved your family and devoted yourself to Clarice and the children.

You were someone that touched the lives of many people from different walks of life and
I was privileged to have been one of the youth that looked up to you as our Youth Pastor back in the day; your leadership and mentoring will forever be in my heart.

You indeed ran a good race and kept the faith. We pray for God to strengthen your family during this difficult time.
May your soul rest in the perfect peace of the Lord.

Vicky.

Charles was not just a professor to me,he was my father,he raised me,made me into who iam today! I will forever be grateful to God for what he has done to my life through Dad Charles. He taught how to be a man and survive whether you are in the desert. His favourite saying was as long as I have breath you can take a everything from me even leave me in the desert the next time you come you will find a city.
A great man he was at a young age he died but the legacy he lives behind issshhhhh it's so rich worth celebrating.
Good well Dad. Farewell till we meet again

Charles was a great leader who brought out the best out of me. During our time at the University of Zambia, you mentored me and made me believe in myself. You introduced me to your wife Clarice who eventually became my friend. You honored me to be on your best man on your colorful wedding. You helped me grow as a leader. You later became my friend and brother. When I took up my Presidential appointment to China, you were super excited and we talked deeply about the future of our country. Rest Easy brother Charles!
