It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Yvonne Landry Martin from Nepean, Ontario on April 24, 2022, at the age of 90. She was the daughter of Léonard Landry and Phebe Thériault of Grande-Anse, N.B. She was the beloved wife of late Brigadier-General Robert Martin. She is survived by her three children, Erin Matthews, Michelle Dyment Fanning (Timothy) et Carole Martin, eight grandchildren, Isaac Zelcer (April), Brianna Matthews, Robert Matthews, Daniel Matthews, Arielle Dyment, Samuel Dyment (Crisy), Phillip Dyment (Marissa) and Rachel Dyment, and great-grandchildren, Leanna Canzi, Mia Canzi and Maxwell Dyment.

She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Sister Gertrude LeGresley, Stanislas LeGresley (Gabrielle), Léandre LeGresley (Blanche), Joséphine LeGresley Bujold (Nelson), Léonard LeGresley (Eulalie), Émile LeGresley (Amanda) and Raymonde Landry Boucher (Joseph) as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Yvonne obtained her Bachelor of Arts at the Collège Notre-Dame d'Acadie and her Bachelor of Common Law at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. Yvonne was the first Acadian to obtain her degree in Common Law after three years of study at the University and a year of clerkship in a law firm. For the last nine years before her retirement, Yvonne was the Special Assistant to the Honourable Justice René J. Marin in his various capacities at the Canada Post Corporation and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Yvonne lived in many Canadian and European cities, but always remained Acadian at heart.

Yvonne will live on in the hearts of her children, her grandchildren and those she loved.

Due to current circumstances, the interment of the urn will be private at the Canadian Forces National Military Cemetery in Beechwood. In memory of Yvonne, the family would appreciate donations made to the Ottawa Mission or Harmer House

Dear Michelle and Carole,

A mother is always with us, from the moment we first open our eyes in her lifetime, to forever in our memory and hearts. Yours will live on forever in my memory and heart as well.
I always admired her wisdom, calm demeanor, her willingness to help, her ability to make everything right, her positivity and her motherly guidance despite our many efforts to test her resolve.
I will remember her fondly and am convinced that she will continue to look after you and your family from above.

Much love,

Luisa
