CPL (Retired) Paul Robert Brisson
Friends, colleagues and family are saddened to announce the sudden yet peaceful passing of Paul Robert Brisson on Friday, October 14, 2022, in Ottawa, Ontario.
Paul is survived by his wife of 50+ years, Edith Brisson (born Lavoie). He was also a devoted father to Natalie (Stéphane MonPremier) and Eric Brisson (Mélanie Blais), and a loving grandfather to Nathan, Samuel, Théodore and Emery.
Paul was born in Legal, Alberta on December 4, 1945. He served as an officer and corporal for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for 31 years. Paul was an avid lover of all sports, including baseball, hockey, golf, and curling.
He was well known for his gregarious personality, positive attitude and deep reservoir of dad jokes.
He remained active well into his seventies as minor hockey referee and baseball umpire.
He was an inspiration to all who interacted with him, and to his family. Paul was a very caring husband, father, and grandfather. A mentor, coach and friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all.

Our most heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family Edith. I have such fond and warm memories of having so much fun with Paul at the family gatherings of our youth, even on to the years when Paul was stationed in Banff. May you get a measure of comfort from the sure promise of a resurrection in the scriptures … I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection….. Acts 24:15. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Russ and Paulette

So Sorry to hear of Paul's passing. I got to know Paul during my time in HQ. We often ran into each other and I enjoyed our many conversations, about golfing, politics, and retiring, all them with plenty of humour. He was a very personable gentleman. Sincere condolences to the Brisson family.

We are thinking of you during this difficult time. As you all sit with grief, we pray that you also hold close life. Hold close the memories, laughter, and joy shared. Hold each other close and welcome the love of those around you. Celebrate the life built with Paul, and the love that was comforting. I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Paul. But we feel the impact of his loss.

My condolences to you Eric and the entire Brisson family. Mr. Brisson was one of the nicest people I have met. Every time I would run into Paul (usually at a ball field or hockey rink) he was always quick to recognize you and give a friendly smile and ask how your family was doing. Such a wonderful person who will truly be missed.
