It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. Kevin was the most amazing, kind and gentle man - he was our world and his family meant everything to him.  He leaves behind his wife and the love of his life, Kelly, his children Paul (Chantal) and Mackenzie (Brett). He also leaves behind his two grandchildren Philippe and Geneviève. Also left to mourn are his four siblings John (Mary), Michael (Tracy), Janis (Laurent) Bissonette and Joan (Mark) Paul. Also survived by his mother-in-law Lois Mooney, many dear brother and sister in laws, and numerous nieces and nephews both in Ottawa and in British Columbia. He is pre-deceased by his amazing parents John and Lorraine, and loving father-in-law John Mooney.

We are all immeasurably better for having known his loving heart.

Appreciation goes to the dedicated staff at The Ottawa Hospital - General and Civic campuses, who amazed us with their exceptional care. Many thanks as well to the palliative care staff at Saint Vincent Hospital /Bruyère who provided a safe, supportive, and caring environment for Kevin during the final stages of his life.

Friends and family are invited to the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa on Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 2:00 to 5:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation are greatly appreciated by the family.

Kevin was an amazing person and the best father. My favourite memory was Kevin teaching me all about baseball while Mackenzie was on her first date with Brett. My deepest condolences to the Braithwaite family, we will miss Kevin and cherish all the great memories.

Kevin and our high school crew were hilarious. We listened to lots and lots of music and laughed our way through most of the early 1970’s. I remember his silly, physical humour. It’s lovely to know Kevin will live on through to his grandchildren!
Sincere condolences to all your family and friends.

Will always have fond memories of going over to our cousins house in Haney!! Coming from a family of 5 kids our parents could not take us to too many places.. Uncle John and Auntie Lorraine were always so welcoming… Kevin was super cute and I had the biggest crush on him!! When the cousins moved to Ottawa we did not see Kevin Mike and Janis very much but did enjoy our get togethers at the cabin. Garrett and I did go visit Kevin in Ottawa when our boys were young Paul and Garrett looked like brothers and Kevin was the best host he made a mean Cesar Salad loved that he tossed it right at the table in a huge salad bowl on legs!! Kevin you have left to soon but I am certain you are at peace with your parents and will always be by your family’s side❤️
