It is indeed with sadness that we announce the death of Jean Marguerite Jellett (née Conrad), of Halifax and Ottawa. Predeceased by her parents, Charles and Elizabeth Conrad of Halifax, her husband, Cmdr. J. David Jellett, and their beloved daughter Angela. And Jean’s brothers Charles and Irving.
Survived by her sisters Dulcie Conrad of Halifax and Alice (Peter) Heenan of Ottawa, sisters-in-law Barbara Gardner of Magog, Quebec and Marcia Conrad of Enfield, CT., and by her son Robert (Susan) and her grandchildren Catherine (Daniel Maillet), Laura (Jason Choquet), and Shane as well as four great-grandchildren, Robbie, Isabelle, Mélodie and Oscar, and by many nieces and nephews. A long legacy.
What marvellous times the whole family had every summer at Hyfield Farm near Chester, N.S. An unequaled life experience, all because of the three sisters.
Kind, funny, unfailingly honest, strong, afraid of nothing save “bugs and crazy people”, and above all, loving and generous. Whatever you needed she was willing to give. A voracious reader and a news junkie long before the term was invented. A lover of opera, crosswords, swimming and walking, Mom studied medicine and archaeology, was interested in everything and was always available to talk. And such fantastic talks we had.
A private interment will be held in the Spring. Donations may be made to the Arthritis Society Canada or any charity you choose.
