Our beautiful Mum ended her life’s journey at the age of 98, Tuesday evening November 23, 2021 at around 8:00pm.  A clear star-filled sky enabled her to fly on her new gossamer wings to find our Dad in Heaven waiting for her, now as youthful as they were when they first met in England during WWII, he at 22, she at 19.

Mum was an amazing woman who left her large family behind in England as a young Warbride to come to Canada to establish a new home and family with our Dad. She was a woman of strong faith and a love of England that she passed on to all of us.  She always told us that we could do anything in life we set our minds to.

She leaves behind her four children: Peter (Nenita); Anne (Roger); Ian (Elaine) and Christine (Cal) as well as eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and many friends and relatives too numerous to count.

As our cousin Shirley in Rigaud, Quebec so aptly put it, Heaven has gained a phenomenal pastry chef. Mum had a wealth of recipes up her sleeve, and loved to get a good head start on her Christmas baking, even in August.

Your soul and memories will never leave us and we will all miss you Mum.

Arrangements are in the care of Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa. A Visitation is planned on Monday, November 29th, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service in Beechwood’s Sacred Space will take place on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 1:00 p.m.  Mum’s earthly remains will then be interred with those of our Dad, the love of her life, in The National Military Cemetery on the grounds of Beechwood Cemetery.

In order to increase capacity limits, the family have requested that all guests provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination with government identification. For those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mum, you may do so to The Glebe Centre. Messages of condolence may be left at www.beechwoodottawa.ca
