With profound sorrow, our family announces that Mr. Glory Wai-Kee Cheng passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the age of 67.
Over the past year, Glory fought bladder cancer courageously at The Ottawa Hospital General Campus, supported closely by his family and dear friends. After a long and difficult battle, he ultimately departed quietly and peacefully.
Glory’s life was filled with creativity and a deep love for living. His hands were always busy: crafting jewelry with care; nurturing orchids and vegetables with the green thumb he was known for; and filling the kitchen with the warmth of home-cooked meals. His unique ingenuity and steady love for life were like a warm light to everyone around him, leaving us with memories that we will always hold preciously.
Mr. Cheng’s funeral and farewell ceremony will be held on Tuesday, December 9th, at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery, and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue.
• 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM: Funeral and farewell ceremony (open viewing)
• 3:00 PM: Burial ceremony
• 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM: Remembrance tea gathering for family and friends

Dear Glory’s family.
I am very sorry for your loss, he’s a very kind man. Not to mention he a good father to his daughter that I see while teaching Katrina bagpipes i’ll never forget the times how much kindness and how funny he is, especially the pizza party incident that still makes me laugh that day, not to mention the necklace he gave me is a good luck charm dealing on the road save my butt twice actually.
The one thing it came good out of the pandemic was meeting Katrina and Glory
It a great honour to meet him
“rest in peace. Hopefully one day we’ll meet again exchange Scotch and tell our story with laughter, when I look at the stone that you give me, may it still protect me from journey Lies ahead. Thank you for the special gift”
