It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Ginette O’Connor- fondly known as ‘Nénette’ to her family - on September 12, 2024, after a brief illness. She was 86 years old.
Ginette was the heart of our home and family. She raised her four children, JoAnne, Sean (Nathalie), Daniel (Elizabeth) and Charles in a loving home, to be independent and thoughtful adults. Ginette was married for 32 years to the love of her life, Charles Edward O’Connor, who predeceased her in 1990. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Nicholas, Kayan, Rachael, Siobhan, Liam, Ethan, Camille and by her good friend Tom.
Ginette was born and raised in St-Jérôme, QC in 1938 to Berthe and Jean-Bart Robert. In 1957 she enrolled at the University of Ottawa where she met her future husband, Charles. They were married in 1958 and settled in Ottawa. She enjoyed a rich and active life that included cooking, gardening, golf and skiing. Ginette was known for her easy laugh and good sense of humour.
The family would like to thank Dr Cindy Wang for her calm and generous care of our mother. We are also very grateful to Mila, Joy, Rose, Vanessa, Véronique and Cathy of MLC Health Care for their attentive care and sincere concern for her well being and ours the past several several months.
