It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Elie Allevato on Friday, January 19, 2024 at the age of 85 at The Ottawa Hospital, General Campus. Beloved husband of Myrna (nee Petticrew), the cherished father of Gina (Joe Dewan) and Andrea (Jeff Orange), loving grandfather of Kaden and Danika Dewan. Brother to the late Stella, and Anthony (Terry Williams) and was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
For over 40 years as a pharmacist and owner of Village Drug Mart in Manor Park, he loved serving the community and helping his customers with all of their healthcare needs. Frank also spent many years pursuing several passions, including traveling, fishing, camping, gardening and cooking. For many years, parishioners of St. Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church were fortunate to enjoy many an Italian meal prepared by Frank and his helpers.
Many thanks to the Ottawa Hospital, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and Elisabeth Bruyere for their support over the years.
Visitation will be held at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario on Sunday, January 28th from 2:00 to 4:00PM and from 7:00 to 9:00PM. Sir Frank, a Christian in word and deed. A Christian who lived Our Lord's call to us to be our "brother's and sister's keeper." He lived his faith. Even when he himself wasn't feeling well, he took time to visit me as I battled vertigo. May Almighty God welcome him home. I will miss him.

Frank was the blueprint for a kind, loving man. A smart, funny and articulate man, who seemed to be happiest when enjoying the simple things of life. A great meal, the loving company of family, the quiet solitude of an afternoon of fishing. A truly blessed man, he will be missed.

To Gina ,
I was so sorry to read in the Ottawa Citizen that your father had died. It was a pleasure to go to his pharmacy in Manor Park. Frank was so nice and caring. I always enjoyed talking with him. I now go to an impersonal Shoppers. I missed him! And I miss seeing you, too, Gina.
