Died peacefully on November 27, 2022 at the age of 71, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of William Carscallen, daughter of the late Eric Martin Mitchell and Geraldine Mitchell (nee McCarthy) and sister of Peter, Barbara (Tom), Kathleen, and William (Pamela). The joy of her life was her four children, Peter (Rachel), Laleah (Claudio), Emma (Clinton) and Mather. Grandchildren Emma, Molly, Charlie, William, Huntington and Archibald filled her life with noise and love.

Always smiling, ever hopeful, thoughtful, and full of love for all she met, Elizabeth had a deep faith in God and a selflessness towards others. She was forever patient, a gentle soul and much loved by family and friends.

Depart O Christian soul. May holy angels lead you forth to paradise.

Family and friends are invited to visit the Sacred Space of Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave, on Saturday December 3 after 9 a.m. A Celebration of Elizabeth's Life will be held at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.

I remember Mitzi as a kind, loving presence as we worked together as camp nurses at Tawingo. When Mitzi laughed, her eyes twinkled and everyone in her midst was happier !
Her beautiful light shines on in her children and grandchildren. Please know that she was loved.
