Passed away peacefully at her Serenacare home on Wednesday, September 13th, 2023 at the age of 89 years. Predeceased by her husband, James “Jim” in 2010. Loving mom of Martin (Rita), Bernadette, Cathie and Bill (Lauren). Much loved grandma of Amanda, Stephen, Kelsey, Jimmy, Gabrielle, Melanie and Alexa. Caring great grandma of Adryck, Audrey, Wesley, Blake and Serenity. Dot will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. A woman of great faith, Dot will be remembered for her kindness and thoughtfulness and never forgetting to send a card for every occasion. With a childhood in Prince Edward Island and travels to interesting places in the world with Jim, Dot was always “at home” in PEI. Special thanks to all who cared and supported Dot throughout her life and in her last days with her Serenacare family. Friends may call at Beechwood Cemetery (280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa, ON), on Thursday, September 21st, 2023 from 6-8p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, September 22nd, 2023 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Condolences, tributes or donations may be made at www.beechwoodottawa.ca

So sorry for the loss of such an amazing aunt. I will always remember the many times I visited Dot and Jim in Ottawa and was always treated as one of the family. I will remember Dot in my prayers and I offer my sympathy to her family.

Aunt Dot so many memories.. excited for their summer visits as a kid… to my family’s first visit to her house that shocked her so much she broke a toe .. to spending many days at her kitchen counter listening to stories and watching the Y&R… and having to go back in the house to have her finish a story when it lasted longer than ten minutes in the winter as she would come out to my car. I love you and will miss you forever Dot!

Gillett Family,
We are saddened to learn that Dot has passed away. We offer our sincere condolences. My parents, George & Carol knew and were neighbours and friends with Dot and Jim for a long time. She is with Jim now, may they both rest in peace and may you all cherish their lives well-lived. Take care!

Dot only came into our life a few short years ago. It is unfortunate that we were not able to enjoy her company and friendship for much longer. She was a strong minded individual who liked bingo at the Legion hall and the odd trip to the Casino (psst.. don't tell Cathie). Our condolence goes out to the rest of the family.
