It is with deep love and sorrow that her friends announce the death of Anne Jolicoeur on April 19, 2026. A tragic series of medical crises occurred while she was at her second home in Cozumel, Mexico in December of last year. For four months after she was brought home to Ottawa, she faced increasingly challenging medical developments that ultimately proved too much for her to bear. She died peacefully with friends by her side.

A vibrant woman who lived life with unbridled passion, enthusiasm and determination, Anne will be remembered by her many friends, relatives, and co-workers as an intelligent, curious, kind, generous and fun-loving person. She was a devoted friend who was always available to help out whether it was a drive to or from the airport or a greater challenge. Anne was always at the ready. An expert scuba diver, Anne was most in her element when travelling the world especially to dive in interesting and exotic locations. She purchased a condo in Cozumel a few years ago and alternated her diving expeditions between this new home base and continuing to travel the world for adventure and to dive.

Beloved daughter of the late Liliane Jolicoeur and the late Rhéal Jolicoeur, Anne is survived by her brother Jean-Marc, sister Helen Adie, and sister Louise Scully, as well as many other family members in Canada and the United States. Anne had a large circle of friends, for many of whom she was a guiding force and inspiration. Her absence will be keenly felt.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to everyone who was there for Anne in her final months. We would especially like to recognize the dedicated staff of the Social Work, Nephrology, and Supportive and Palliative Care programs at The Ottawa Hospital, General Campus, as well as Andrea Sekula, Specialized Liaison Nurse for Costamed Hospital Cozumel.

In respect of Anne’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Friends are planning a party to celebrate Anne that will take place in the summer or early fall. Details will be announced via Facebook.

Anne and I were friends as teenagers. Then as adults life directed us on different paths and we lost contact. After 30 years we reconnected along with 2 other friends. I will always have fond memories of of her.

Anne surely enjoyed her time here on planet earth, weather she was in the ocean or enjoying live jazz and art, I met Anne while she was travelling with her brother Jean-Marc on the Gold Coast. A sad time for all who were close to her.

She will be missed. I worked with her during the strike at the National Fallery many years ago. A warm and energetic person. Condolences to her family and many friends.

No word can express my deep sorrow of losing my dear friend. We enjoyed a delectable dinner together just before her departure to Mexico celebrating both our birthdays, as was customary for us. She was looking forward to spending time at her second home. Love you and miss you Anne! ❤️

I will never forget how hard we laughed on that dive in playa Giron after our boat sank from underneath us. I’ve never laughed underwater with someone as much as Anne. I will think of you on every future dive. Miss you lots.
