Self-Guided Tours
For the past several years, Beechwood has been installing Great Canadian Profile plaques within the Cemetery. These bright green plaques bear a brief bilingual biography of a person of historical interest who is buried nearby. There are now over 50 of these plaques.
As part of the Foundation’s mandate to provide educational and historical programming, we have created self-guided tours, showing the locations of all the plaques and a legend identifying the person that each plaque profiles, as well as an ongoing series of themed tours. Visitors can explore these tours at their own pace, taking the time to read and reflect on each story, making for a personalized and flexible learning experience.
