To: Debbie, Deanna, Billy and families -
It was with a deep sense of loss and sorrow that I heard of Bill's passing. Although I've known him only since he arrived at Valley Stream, it seems I've known him all my life. Both of us being native Newfoundlanders, we became close friends in very short order and gained each other's trust and respect. As well we got to meet each other's families. He was indeed a most generous and compassionate individual who always considered it was "more blessed to give than to receive". He always had a supply of chocolate bars in his walker which he distributed to staff and residents of Valley Stream on a regular basis. I will him dearly as will many others. Rest in peace Bill.

It has been my pleasure to have met Bill a year ago. As a member of St. John the Apostle Parish Pastoral Ministry we brought Bill Communion on Sundays. His strong faith, his experiences he shared, his wisdom, his humour, his giving nature and his compassion for others ,shone through in our many conversations. I feel truly blessed to have met this fine gentleman. Bill may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
