Early on March 26, 2026, William Dale Loveridge, dear husband of Joan Proudfoot and proud father of Patty, Russell, and Peter, and spouses Lee Robinsong and Katarina Lang Loveridge, died after a short stay in hospital.
Dale grew up in the original village of Pinawa, site of Manitoba’s first hydro-electric generating system. After finishing high school in Winnipeg, he pursued graduate studies in geophysics at the University of Manitoba. This led to a career in geochronology with the Geological Survey of Canada.
His retirement years included world travels and he particularly enjoyed cottage life at Sand Bay, Quebec.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
Joan and family are grateful to the dedicated staff at the Civic Hospital and the team at Governor’s Walk Retirement Residence.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Nature Conservancy of Canada are welcome.

Remembering my cousin, Dale, and sending sympathy to his family. He was a fine man and we enjoyed spending time with him when we were growing up, and also post retirement at a number of "cousin reunions"..

The news of Dale's passing has brought back so many cherished memories. Of football games, visits back and forth, watching each other raise our young families. Dale was a gentle and decent man with such a warm sense of humor. My sincerest sympathy and hugs to Joan, Patty, Russel and Peter.

Wife Shirley and I extend our sincere condolences to Joan , Russell, Peter, Patty and families. I have had the pleasure of knowing Dale as a great friend since the early 1960s when he and I relocated from Manitoba to Ottawa to be employed by the Geological Survey of Canada. Dale and Joan and Shirley and I have much enjoyed celebrating New Years together with 3 other couples since 1967. We all also often met for lunch and frequently cottaged together. Dale will be much missed by Joan and their close family and his many friends.
my deepest condolences to the Loveridge family.. sending all of you my love. and my prayers as well....blessings, with love and healing light, Mark
