Elaine Skeete, was surrounded by loved ones when she passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 20, 2026 – concluding 86 years of a vibrant, impactful life. Elaine was the glue that bonded: a spiritual matriarch who loved, nurtured, protected and was fiercely supportive of her family; a selfless soul who prioritized the needs of others without concern for recognition; a friend who prayed for those in need and reached out on Birthdays, Anniversaries and special occasions; a mentor, a counsellor, an advocate, a champion.
Elaine was born on May 15, 1939 in St. Michael, Barbados, West Indies. Elaine later answered her calling, emigrating from Barbados to embark upon a journey to England that would begin a phenomenal Nursing career. Elaine and John “Skeeter” met and wed in England; Elaine is: Mother to 2 sons - Sean and Stuart, Mother-in-law to Marissa and Grandmother to Zuri and Adia.
Anytime you gaze skyward and see rays of sunlight penetrating the clouds – know that Elaine has opened Heaven’s door to look down and check-up on you from her eternal home.
May our beloved Elaine rest in eternal peace.

To the Skeete family,
Elaine was someone special that I learned so much from when I started as a new graduate nurse. Such a great lady that was so calm and welcoming to rookie nurses that were nervous. I can still hear her laugh and calling my name. She is definitely someone I will remember always as a great nurse, mentor but an even better person.

My condolences to the family. May she RIP.

Miss Elaine you will surely be missed. i want to thank you for embracing me into your family, for the many bus tours that we had and all the love you had to share. Even in sickness your smile light up the room. I will surely miss you on my upcoming visit to Ottawa. The Lord has called you home, so you can continue to take care of us from a higher place. May Eternal Rest grant onto you and let perpetual light shine upon you May you rest in Peace.
