Passed away peacefully in Ottawa on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the age of 90.
Marion was born in St. Peter, Barbados, on November 13, 1935. She was a devoted and loving mother to Ulric and Sonia, who were the center of her world. She was a caring wife to her beloved husband, Samuel, who will now have the love of his life with him for eternity. She was a cherished sister to her brothers and sisters in Barbados, and a beloved aunt and great‑aunt to her nieces and nephews, who greatly loved their “Auntie Marion.” She was a doting granny to her grandson, Gavin.
Marion was also a loyal friend to many, with Caribbean and Canadian friendships that extended across Canada and the United States. Those who met her never forgot her.
She will be dearly missed by her extended family in Barbados, Canada, the United States, and England. Marion will be remembered for her kindness, caring nature, independence, and resilience, as well as her wonderful sense of humour. Her vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, sunshine smile, and unmistakable Bajan accent could fill any room. Singing in church was one of her many gifts, and her voice touched many over the years.
Marion loved attending Sunday church services. Her faith and belief in God were strong and steady throughout her life, guiding her through both happy and difficult times.
Family and friends are invited to Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery, and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa) on Friday, March 27th, 2026, for a Visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 1 p.m., followed by Interment at Beechwood Cemetery.

Today we had the privilege to watch Sonia and Ulric say there final farewell to their beloved momma. Sonia, your tribute was spot on, you honored her life remarkably well. Ther was not a dry eye in the room.
Ulric, the past couple of years, you dedicated your life on being there for her, I am sure she is smiling downnat both her children.
Hugs to all the family and friends.
