It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Nha-Ling Jean Wong.

Nha-Ling will be remembered for her love of beauty, her kindness and the quiet joy she found in everyday moments. Her loving and forthright nature touched all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving sister Nancy (late Jack-You), brother Lance (Vivian), brother Donald (Liz) and sister Kaye. She will also be fondly remembered by her many cherished nieces (Connie, Ami, Kaila and Ziena), nephews (Garrett and Jacob) as well as her great-nieces and great-nephews.

Nha-Ling will be dearly missed for her warmth, her presence and the love she gave so freely.

The kind words, memories, and condolences shared have meant more to our family than we can fully express. It has been comforting to see how many lives she touched with her warmth, generosity, and quiet strength.

We would be honoured if you could join us for a Celebration of Life in her memory.

Date: Saturday, May 30, 2026

Time: 1:30 - 3:30pm

Location: Overbrook Community Centre, 33 Quill St., Ottawa ON K1K 4E7

Kindly RSVP by May 1 so we can plan accordingly. You can replyto conniecychin@gmail.com to let us know if you’ll be attending.

We hope you can join us as we remember her together.

With gratitude,

This is so sad to hear this news. I got to know Nha-Ling through many years sitting in the make-up room at CPAC. Nha-Ling was such a thoughtful, kind and caring person. We had so many enjoyable times talking about life & everything under the sun, while she performed her make-up magic... Her sense of humpour was wonderful, too. In retirement, Nha-Ling was one of the people whom I knew I would miss. And now this... To her family: please accept my most heartfelt condolences. We have lost a lovely, lovely person...

I worked with her in two television newsrooms and she was the absolute best. The bright spot in sometimes difficult days. She would always know exactly what to do to lighten the mood. She will be deeply missed.

To Nha Ling’s family, for all of us in television she was a calming and artistic presence when we landed in her chair. She grounded us, and was there for us no matter what was going on in Ottawa or around the world. A wonderful person, we will all remember her. Rosemary Thompson
