Melania "Mela" Kola (nee Rogala), 91, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024. Born on March 15, 1933, in Pszerosl, Poland, Mela was loved by all who met her due to her beautiful spirit. She was a devoted wife to Nikola (deceased), mother to two boys; Peter, Dedo (Stephanie); and grandmother to 6 wonderful grandchildren; Hunter, Mikyla, Brianna, Aidan, Keeghan, Quinn; who affectionately called her grandma or Babcia (Polish for grandmother). Her love for her family was evident as she devoted her life to her family.

Friends and family are invited to pay respects at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave, Ottawa on Thursday November 21st from 5:00 to 9:00 pm and on Friday November 22nd from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Funeral will be held in the Sacred Space at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre on Friday November 22nd at 10:00 am followed by interment and a reception.  The funeral service will be streamed online at 10:00 am EST using the following link: https://my.forever.link/melania-kola

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Dementia Society of Ottawa in her name, or even planting a tree in her memory.
