In loving memory of Konstantinos Missios (born July 18th, 1942), who peacefully passed away on Monday, Aug 5th 2024, at the Ottawa General Hospital after his battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents George and Aphrodite Missios (Nee Roumanis), as well as his brothers Michael (Evlogia) and Gregory Missios and sister Irene Zourdos (Christos) - Nee Missios.
Kostas leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Kleanthi Missios (Nee Tsaknis), brother John Missios (Niki), sister Helen Georgakopoulos (George), son George Missios (Stacey) and daughter Maria Missios (Peter Nikolakakos). He was a proud and loving grandfather to his grandchildren Stephanie, Emily, Michael and Kyriakos. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Kostas will be remembered as a man of honour and grace. He maintained a very successful career as a carpenter and took immense pride in his work and providing for his family. Many homes within Ottawa are blessed to have his craftsmanship within. He valued good friends, family, food, and happiness, and will greatly be missed by many for these reasons and so much more.
A service will be held at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church (1315 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa Ontario) as follows:
Tuesday September 3rd, 2024
Visitation: 9:00-11:00AM
Service: 11:00-12:00PM
Burial to follow at 1:00PM
Friends and family are invited to gather back at the church following the burial to raise tribute to our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and friend.
The family wishes to thank the many Nurses and Doctors from both the Monfort Hospital and Ottawa General Hospital for their excellent care during his many visits over the last months.
In leu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society or The Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church.
