It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rolland (Rolly) Leon Hupé. Rolland passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Hospital on July 22, 2024. A beloved husband of 37 years to Anne-Marie Hupé and a devoted father to Nicholas, Alexa, and daughter-in-law Lora. Rolland loved his family unconditionally. This extended to his siblings Suzette, David, Stephane, Roxanne, Chantal, Dominic, and Ronald, and earned him the deserved title of fun uncle to many wonderful nieces and nephews. Rolland is predeceased by his father Rolland Maurice Hupé and mother Louise Kirouette.

Born and raised in Ottawa, Rolly was a former youth worker and social worker for the City of Ottawa. Rolly positively influenced countless lives. He was an artist, drummer, motorcycle enthusiast, and was fiercely proud of his family. He will be remembered for his sincere kindness, loyalty, and humour.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services at 280 Beechwood Avenue, on Thursday, August 1 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Faustina Parish at 2571 Ottawa Regional Rd 174, Cumberland on Friday, August 2 at 11 a.m.

My deepest condolences on your loss. I worked with Rolly for 30 plus years, starting back when we worked at the Ottawa Youth Detention Centre. Rolly was such an inspiration for his gentleness, patience and kindness. He spoke of his family often, he was so proud. I am glad we met and was able to work with such an inspirational person. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My deepest condolences to all of Rolly's family and friends. Rolly and I worked together at the City sitting across from each other for a few years. Rolly always had a positive attitude and always cracking jokes. He always had something to say. I will always remember Rolly and the good times we had at the Hollywood Blvd in the office. I can never forget Rolly wearing his ''Stinking Rose'' T-shirt from the time he visited Los Angeles. Next time I visit, I will definitely visit this restaurant as he enjoyed it very much.
I will never forget you, Rolly.
Sending healing prayers to Anne-Marie and the children.

Rollyman always had a twinkle in his eye! His laugh made you smile. The jokes! - how did he remember so many jokes?
Rolly and I would tease each other when our children were young about work parties being our only social functions! Central had quite a few. Rolly and AnneMarie as bowling champs is a great memory.
Although our clients loved him it was clear that his wife and children helped him to keep a difficult job at the office. The photos he shared were done with so much pride. I especially liked the Scooby mural he painted for his kids in their basement.
Loss is never easy, and my heart goes out to Anne-Marie, Nicholas, Alexa, and other family members. You will be missed Rolly.

We are immensely grateful for the time the four of us got to spend together. Rolly's smile and kind personality lit up the afternoon. A cherished memory that will never fade.
May you rest peacefully.
