It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rolland (Rolly) Leon Hupé. Rolland passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Hospital on July 22, 2024. A beloved husband of 37 years to Anne-Marie Hupé and a devoted father to Nicholas, Alexa, and daughter-in-law Lora. Rolland loved his family unconditionally. This extended to his siblings Suzette, David, Stephane, Roxanne, Chantal, Dominic, and Ronald, and earned him the deserved title of fun uncle to many wonderful nieces and nephews. Rolly was a friend, a confidant, and a great desk partner many years ago. He always asked about the my girls and spoke so proudly of his family. Rolly… you will be missed. RIP my friend

Rolly was truly kind hearted man. He was always smiling, when sharing stories of what his children had accomplished, or reminiscing of summer holidays with the family, or the latest road trip, while riding the elevator at 370 Catherine Street. He had a kind and supportive approach with those we serve and a twinkle in his eye. My deepest sympathies to his family.

I am so sad to learn of Rolly’s passing. He was a colleague and a friend. He was always so willing to share a smile, a story and a laugh. He made the world a brighter place for so many. My thoughts are with his family who I hope are comforted by the many great memories they have with him. RIP Rolly

My dearest friend; you have left a huge void in our hearts. The 30 years we worked together at the city of Ottawa social services, was not enough to encapsulate the love you had for your family and I was honoured to witness. I’ll always remember our shared funny and sad moments of the nature of our work, and of course your contagious laughter. Rest in peace my dear friend.

To Rolly’s family, (his pride and joy), I’m so sorry for your loss. I feel so fortunate to have known Rolly over the years that we worked together at 370 Catherine. He was the sweetest and kindest person,. Someone who always loved to laugh and make others laugh. (His laugh was so unique and so contagious). He was always willing to help or give good advice/support. He loved talking about his family, which you could always tell, filled him with so much joy. What a proud family man! I felt like I knew you all through his stories. I remember sharing rides to work with him when I lived in Navan for a time. I remember enjoying the great conversation and company. He was truly one of a kind. A gentle soul with a fun-loving nature, who wasn’t above playing a prank or two here and there. I always loved when he’d show me his latest stained glass creation or pics of his motorcycle or his family. He had a passion that would show in the excitement he had when talking about the things and people he loved most. I feel so lucky to have known him over the years. Thinking of you, his beloved family at this difficult time. Rolly, you will be missed. Rest in peace my friend.

My condolences to the family, wife son and daughter we spoke of you all often. A fellow employee at the City Rolly was easy to like, good natured, empathetic and a fellow biker. Rest in peace buddy.

Always a smile, a chat and a laugh. His phone was always ready to be whipped out to proudly show pics of his family whom he loved more than anything. Oh Rolly…you will be missed. Here’s hoping motorcycles and stained glass making are the recreational activities in Heaven xo
Rolly,
His morning announcements lol.
I think they finally took him off the air?!!!!
