It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rolland (Rolly) Leon Hupé. Rolland passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Hospital on July 22, 2024. A beloved husband of 37 years to Anne-Marie Hupé and a devoted father to Nicholas, Alexa, and daughter-in-law Lora. Rolland loved his family unconditionally. This extended to his siblings Suzette, David, Stephane, Roxanne, Chantal, Dominic, and Ronald, and earned him the deserved title of fun uncle to many wonderful nieces and nephews. Rolland is predeceased by his father Rolland Maurice Hupé and mother Louise Kirouette.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Rolly was a former youth worker and social worker for the City of Ottawa. Rolly positively influenced countless lives. He was an artist, drummer, motorcycle enthusiast, and was fiercely proud of his family. He will be remembered for his sincere kindness, loyalty, and humour.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services at 280 Beechwood Avenue, on Thursday, August 1 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Faustina Parish at 2571 Ottawa Regional Rd 174, Cumberland on Friday, August 2 at 11 a.m.

I have wonderful memories of Rolly reading "T'was the NIght before Christmas" at the Catherine Street Children's Christmas parties to the rapt attention of our kids. Also, Rolly's morning announcements over the PA system at Catherine St (birthdays or milestones) in his cheerful good humour. A good man who will be remembered fondly and will be greatly missed. Condolences to Rolly's dear family.

My deepest condolences to all of you. I had the pleasure of working with Rolly at Catherine Street. He was one of the first to welcome me to the office when I transferred there. He would often drop by for a chat and always made me laugh. He spoke lovingly and proudly of his family. I will remember his kindness, generosity, sincerity and sense of humour. RIP Rolly.

I’m so sorry that Rolly did not get his transplant in time to save him from passing away. We worked together at social services on Catherine street. He was such a funny, caring and loving person. No bs kind of man. He always spoke about his loving wife and family. Oh my his motorcycle was his pride of joy. A real joker with great stories. God bless you and be that angel looking out on your family. We loved you and always will. Nickname bye-bye la, he would understand that one for sure
Sincere condolences to Rolly's family, we had the pleasure of working together for many years. He was amazing with clients and colleagues. He had a heart of gold.. May he rest in peace
